Revolut has begun rolling out its first stablecoin, euro-pegged EURR, to selected customers in Denmark, Poland and Portugal, with expansion across other EEA markets planned later in 2026.

Revolut said Wednesday that the phased launch gives eligible customers access to a euro-denominated onchain asset directly through its retail app, while additional stablecoins tied to other currencies are being developed under separate regulatory routes.

EURR stablecoin starts with a three-country rollout

The first distribution covers eligible users in Denmark, Poland and Portugal, with access expected to reach other European Economic Area markets later this year depending on product, operational and regulatory readiness.

EURR is issued by Bridge Building S.A., the Luxembourg-based entity of stablecoin 
infrastructure company Bridge, which Stripe acquired for $1.1 billion in February 2025. The token is designed to maintain a value of €1, with reserves held and managed by Bridge under requirements set by the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation.

Revolut Digital Assets Europe is offering EURR to customers. The entity operates Revolut’s regulated crypto services across the EEA and holds authorization under MiCA through the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.

At launch, EURR will be available on Ethereum as Revolut gradually increases distribution and liquidity. The company also plans to support the asset across multiple blockchain networks, allowing customers to transfer the token outside Revolut to compatible wallets.

External wallet transfers will initially be available to selected customers and will be extended as liquidity develops, according to the company. Revolut’s existing crypto trading and remittance limits will apply to transactions involving EURR, while fiat transactions will not carry spreads or fees.

Customers can use EURR as an onchain euro asset when moving funds between fiat and crypto without first converting into a dollar-denominated stablecoin.

Emil Urmanshin, Revolut’s head of crypto, said EURR connects the company’s 80 million customers with onchain finance by combining its banking infrastructure with euro-denominated access to crypto markets.

“By combining our global scale and licensed banking infrastructure with instant euro-denominated access to the crypto ecosystem, we are unlocking real-world stablecoin utility that no traditional bank or crypto native can match,” Urmanshin said.

MiCA rules have reshaped Revolut’s stablecoin lineup

The EURR rollout arrives as Revolut removes Tether’s USDT from eligible accounts in the EEA and Switzerland under the European Union’s stablecoin rules.

As crypto.news reported in July, Revolut stopped purchases of USDT for affected European customers on July 6 and gave existing holders until Aug. 31 to sell, withdraw or transfer their tokens.

Remaining balances after the deadline are due to be converted into customers’ base currencies. The change followed MiCA requirements governing stablecoin issuers and crypto service providers operating across the bloc.

EURR gives Revolut a euro-denominated token issued within the MiCA framework while the company removes a stablecoin that no longer fits its product requirements for eligible European accounts.

Bridge Building, as the issuer, is responsible for holding and managing the reserves backing EURR. Revolut said the reserves are maintained in line with applicable MiCA requirements, while the token itself is offered through its regulated European digital asset entity.

EURR is classified as a euro-pegged e-money token, meaning holders do not receive the protections attached to a traditional bank deposit. Redemption at par is handled through the issuer subject to Bridge’s onboarding and regulatory requirements.

The company has described EURR as the first part of a multi-currency stablecoin plan. Other fiat-denominated tokens are being developed through separate regulatory pathways, although Revolut has not disclosed which currencies it intends to support next.

Revolut has been adding crypto functions to its main financial platform

The stablecoin launch follows several additions to Revolut’s digital asset business as the company connects crypto trading more closely with services already offered through its financial platform.

In July, Revolut connected Revolut X to third-party AI tools including Claude, Gemini, OpenClaw and Cursor, allowing customers to retrieve market data, review accounts, analyze positions and prepare trades through natural-language instructions.

Orders prepared through the integrations still require user approval before execution. Revolut also released a universal plugin and command-line interface so other compatible AI platforms can connect to Revolut X through its API.

Revolut X began as a desktop crypto exchange for UK retail customers in May 2024 before expanding into European markets and adding mobile access. Crypto services for customers in the EEA are handled separately through Revolut Digital Assets Europe.

The company’s customer base has also continued to increase alongside its crypto operations. A July employee share sale valued Revolut at $115 billion, while the company reported more than 75 million customers at the time and $6 billion in 2025 revenue.

EURR gives the company another product that can operate inside the same retail app customers already use for currency exchange, payments and crypto services, while external-wallet support allows the stablecoin to move onto public blockchain networks.

Banking and crypto licenses have expanded Revolut’s regulated operations
Revolut’s regulated banking business has also expanded during 2026. In March, the company secured PRA approval to launch Revolut Bank UK after a multiyear licensing process.

The approval allows eligible UK customer deposits to receive Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection as accounts are migrated to the bank, although Revolut’s crypto trading activities remain outside the deposit protection scheme and are operated through a separate entity.

Revolut also applied to the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for a national banking charter in March. The proposed bank would give the company access to U.S. banking infrastructure and support services including payments, credit products and deposits.

By June, Revolut’s U.S. chief executive had told Reuters that stablecoin services were expected to be included alongside traditional banking products if the company’s planned U.S. bank receives regulatory approval.

Regulatory expansion has continued outside Europe and the United States. In July, Revolut received in-principle approval from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority to offer regulated virtual asset services in the United Arab Emirates.

The approval allows Revolut to work toward providing virtual asset broker-dealer, management, investment, and exchange services in Dubai, subject to final authorization from VARA.
